Big CD Sale Tuesday

Above is a picture of what we’ve taken to calling “Mount Boxmore” here the spare room in our house, where we keep most of the CDs for www.fsmcds.com.

We save various boxes that come in (pet food, Amazon) in case we need them to ship orders. Needless to say, I hope we get a chance to use a lot of these this week!

Our white CD inventory boxes are full again, and tomorrow morning (Tuesday 9/3/24) at 10AM Pacific we’ll go live with 2,500 new listings.

So this isn’t our biggest sale but it may be the most eclectic. In addition to the usual copies of rare limited edition CDs (Intrada, Quartet, La-La Land, Kritzerland, Varèse CD Club), and another solid batch of Academy Award FYC (“For Your Consideration”) CDs, we have a bunch of discs that came to us in damaged condition. So instead of just chucking them, we’ve marked them down to only a few bucks, or in many cases just $1. They’re a great way to keep your hands on a super pricey title, if you don’t mind some water damage or whatever—or maybe find yourself a back-up copy of a disc?

We also have a new assortment of DVDs and Blu-Rays—plus film music books, some of them quite hard to find.

While we don’t actively seek out CDs of other genres (pop, classical, jazz), when they come in as part of an estate, we figure we might as well list them and see if there are any takers. So we have quite a few of these again, at super-cheap prices.

It’s also possible this may be the last big sale for a while. We’re happy to sell collections and portions therefore—contact me if you’re interested—but it’s rather unpredictable what will come in, and when.

Oh, and—as I think I wrote before—we solved that confounding bug where people were losing items from their shopping carts. The culprit was the “quick buy” button, which was bypassing the carts. We’ve removed it. Your carts will hold your items exclusively for you for six hours.

Finally, if you’ve had your eyes on something and figure you’ll pick it up tomorrow...I actually would just do it now. There’s going to be a ton of traffic tomorrow morning and there’s a good chance the item you want will sell to somebody else first.

We regularly check to see if a customer has multiple orders in the queue—and we combine them and refund any applicable excess shipping.

So if you order something today, and then again tomorrow, we’ll combine the orders automatically and adjust the shipping, if appropriate.

Thanks everybody! See you tomorrow!
