CDs in Stock Part 40

REMINDER: FANS OF FILM MUSIC OFFER! If you are attending Peter Hackman’s Fans of Film Music event this Saturday, October 19th, at Silent Zoo Studios, I will personally hand-deliver your order—so you can save on the shipping charges! Just place your order as normal and put “FOFM” in the notes field, and I will reverse the shipping cost (if any) after we receive the order and bring your items on Saturday—see you there! (Just be sure to get your order in by Friday night please.)

Continuing with the W titles: The Wild Wild West is a 4CD set of TV music from the classic show, long out of print on La-La Land. We still have sealed and used copies. We’re asking $145 ($140 for a sealed one with a cracked case, and we’ll give you a new case). Usually I go on eBay to get a comparison price, but there aren’t any available on there at the moment. It’s $299 on Discogs. It’s a magnificent collection produced by Jon Burlingame, who knows these shows better than anybody.

A couple of John Williams collections in stock: Themes and Transcriptions for Piano is a piano adaptation album (by Simon Pedroni) on Varèse Sarabande, $10. And Williams on Williams: The Classic Spielberg Scores is a $3 CD on Sony Classical.

I have long collected the classic “blaxploitation” scores, and Hip-O released one I didn’t even know about, Willie Dynamite by J.J. Johnson. It’s good! It’s pressed in a cardboard sleeve, $25.

We have a copy of the Japanese For Life CD of Basil Poledouris’ Wind, albeit missing the obi strip, $8.

We have a couple of copies of the original Intrada release of The Wind and the Lion by Goldsmith, $8.

The Winds of War is a 1983 TV miniseries score by Bob Cobert. We have the original Varèse red spine release (drilled) for $5, or the more recent reissue for $25.

We have the Collector’s Choice release of The Witches of Eastwick by Williams for only $12.

We have a punched copy of Wizards by Andrew Belling on La-La Land, $45.

Won Ton Ton/Oh Dad, Poor Dad is a delightful Neal Hefti doubleheader on Kritzerland. We have a sealed copy for $12. Years ago I was in a mastering session with Doug Schwartz, who did the engineering on most of our FSM titles, and he told me he was one of the kid singers on Oh Dad! Cool!

We have a sealed copy of the 1970s TV Wonder Woman by Charles Fox and company, $25, on La-La Land.

Wonderful Country/The King and Four Queens is an excellent Alex North westerns doubleheader on Masters Film Music, $18. There’s a killer main title on King and Four Queens—if you like Goldsmith’s Great Train Robbery, check this out:

The Wonderful World of the Bros. Grimm was a Cinerama restoration we did at FSM on a 2CD set where I found the master tape organization so confusing I just gave up trying to produce the album and asked Neil Bulk to do it. He did! It’s long out of print and hard to find, $45. Super catchy stuff by Leigh Harline:

The Wreck of the Mary Deare/Twilight of Honor is an FSM CD of the Duning and Green scores, respectively. I adore George Duning and always tried to unearth his scores!

The Wrong Man is a Herrmann/Hitchcock score we released at FSM, $12.

We have a copy of Wrongfully Accused by Conti on Intrada, $30.

We have a copy of the National Geograhic CD of Yankee Sails Across Europe/Grizzly! by Bernstein and Moross, respectively. Out of print on Intrada, $25.

We have a copy of the Intrada restoration of The Young Lions by Friedhofer, $35.

The Young Riders is a John Debney TV western on La-La Land, $25.

The Zero Boys is a Zimmer/Myers score on NoteforNote, $25.

Zigzag/The Super Cops is a 1970s two-fer 2CD set I did at FSM of the Oliver Nelson and Jerry Fielding crime scores, respectively. Good stuff for $18!

And finally, what is the title always at the end of our store inventory? Zulu Dawn by Elmer Bernstein! We have the BSX for $12 or the Cerberus for $5.

And we made it! Thanks for reading, and shopping!

There’s always cool stuff coming in and great scores worth talking about, so I will revisit the catalog often. It’s fun to talk about our favorite music!

Now that you have done one pass, it would make sense to start again at A.
