I was working through the G titles of Doug Fake’s collection yesterday and got to a For Your Consideration promo of the Spike Lee movie, Get on the Bus.
I wasn’t familiar with this and we didn’t have a listing in the database for it, so at first I thought, ah, $3.
However, methodical and thorough as I am, I thought, lemme check Discogs, which is our primary reference for pricing. (I try to match or go under the currently offered lowest price.)
My eyes popped out of my head:
I was like, can this be right...?
As it turns out, this promo had the premiere release of the Michael Jackson single, “On the Line,” and thus is one of the top Michael Jackson CD collectibles out there.
We’ll be listing this one for $495 on eBay.
So it was almost yours for $3—but in this case, while I hate the crazy eBay prices that gouge collectors, I am trying to make money for Doug’s family and wouldn’t mind a nice donation from a Michael Jackson completist.
