Congrats to La-La Land Records on their new Goldfinger edition, at long last sequencing the tracks in film order and sounding fantastic—with new Jon Burlingame liner notes, too!
Jon’s notes reminded me of something remarkable that I think I read before, but I don’t remember: one of the most unforgettable bits of the theme song, the answering “wa-WA-WA-WA-waah” to the opening chords, was added by Barry at the session. It just came to him so he added it right there.
