We will go live with the Paul Scannell collection Tuesday at 10AM Pacific time, February 11, 2025.
This is a terrific, wide-reaching collection of some 4,800 titles and especially strong on early Varèse, early Milan, and French composers. We’ll have a post soon from Paul telling the story of his collection and why he’s putting it up for sale.
I continue to get emails from time to time with wish lists asking for advance looks on the titles. And I truly would love to help...but it’s overwhelming. To keep track of commissions, I have to run all the sales through the site, and I can’t do that until the titles are on the site, by which time everybody can see them.
Sorry for the sob story but I just don’t have the bandwidth to help people the way I wish I could. I mean, you can continue to ask—I hate to turn anybody away!—but unless there’s something specific that I just happened to see in a box, it’s really hard to do this.
So this is my suggestion: Visit the site at exactly 10AM the morning the list goes live, and you’ll have a good hour to sort through it with only a few dozen other collectors to compete for titles. The real traffic starts around an hour later when I send out the email blast.
On that note...
Tomorrow, February 4, at 10AM Pacific, we’ll be adding around 90 titles that came in from somebody else plus a few dozen Blu-rays. And I’ll be sending out an email blast to let people know about those, plus the February 11th BIG sale date.
It’s a great privilege to be able to sell you this music we all love. Thank you!
