Martha’s Vineyard Museum

I was recently back in my hometown of Martha’s Vineyard and had a chance to visit the Martha’s Vineyard Museum.

Like any Vineyard kid, of course I had been to school field trips at the old “Historical Society” campus in Edgartown, which was quite humble and undersized.

This was my first visit to their new location at the old hospital building in Vineyard Haven and they did a magnificent job. I went right to the ferries exhibit, naturally (given my interest in the boats), which was really well done, but then walked the entire structure, and I’ll have to go back when I have more time. It’s like...a real museum! (Next year, the ferries exhibit will be replaced by one about the making of Jaws.)

Kudos to everybody involved!
