Olympics

I’m sad to see the Paris Olympics end because I really enjoyed watching them this time around. There were four channels on DirecTV to watch whatever was going on, and we subscribed to Peacock too for highlights.

I enjoy watching team sports so it was fun to learn the gameplay and strategies of field hockey, handball, water polo and the like. And the volleyball is always good.

I remember one time, however many years ago, that whatever network overpaid for the broadcast rights inexplicably filled their telecasts with “soft news” pieces about the athletes. It was maddening to turn on the Games only to find—no games!

But this time there seemed to be an endless assortment of high-quality competition and it was a great diversion. Good job, Olympics!
