Congrats to all the Oscar winners.
I don’t know if I’ve ever felt less connected to what’s going on with movies...or with the culture? I had barely heard of several of the biggest contenders.
We seem to be in a new age that’s driven by technology: the ease of streaming and the sophistication of modern home theater set-ups; and the fracturing of media and the devaluing of narrative storytelling to young people.
Narrative is out, “reality” (as in reality TV, influencers, etc.) is in. I think it’s that simple.
