We have received all but the last 500-600 CDs from the Douglass Fake collection from Intrada. Check out the state of our living room!

Stage one of processing is underway: getting them from the brown shipping boxes into the white storage boxes.

With so many CDs here (probably over 7,000) even the alphabetization has to be done in three phases and will take at least a week—followed by the “Q/C” pass (quality control, to fix broken cases and note any damage). My associate Den does this work,

Then it will be up to me to methodically build the spreadsheet that we upload into www.fsmcds.com. Because we already have some 20K titles in the database, most of the time I can just do a find for the title and add “sealed” or “used” and it goes pretty fast. But Doug is bound to have some rare and unusual items not yet in the database, and they have to be newly typed up and priced.

At the same time, we’re paying the web hosting company to improve the memory usage at www.fsmcds.com so we don’t have those horrible timing-out problems.
