The Intensity of Working a CD Sale

Writer's picture: Lukas KendallLukas Kendall

Thanks to everybody who has bought from our new sales list, the Paul Scannell collection. We’ve had a monster week and we’re getting the majority of the orders boxed and shipped over the long holiday weekend.

Maybe you’re wondering what it’s like to work a sale like this. Or maybe not? It’s been on the forefront of my mind since I’m living it!

I am thrilled with the orders and it’s a great problem to have—but as you can imagine, it’s very intense. We are a two-man crew here and the days are very busy.

It’s like a tidal wave of orders and it’s very easy for mistakes to happen. We learned the hard way that with so many different editions now of titles, it’s very easy to grab the wrong one—which ultimately affects two orders and customers.

It’s also possible to be perfect yet still have problems to resolve: website glitches, human error (customers ordering the wrong item)...cats knocking over piles of CDs!

I am always acutely aware that every order has a human being on the other side of it who is spending hard-earned money on beloved soundtracks, and we want to make sure everybody gets what they want—not always possible with one-of-a-kind items.

So yeah...it’s intense, but we’re very happy to do it.

Thanks and keep the orders coming!

I can only imagine how hectic it can be, but I think I'd still have fun with it! And I didn't want to say anything (partly 'cause it's now a moot point since I've got the deluxe edition), but I'm pretty sure I had ordered a sealed copy of "Casper", but I was sent a used one with a few minor scuffs (they were the same price). But it was only a buck or two, and I got such a deal on the other stuff, that it just didn't bother me enough to gripe. Plus you guys had done me a "Super" favor months before. :)

Hey, nobody's perfect, and you are getting better! But heck, the way I see it, somebody else out there ordered a used copy and got pleasantly surprised with a new one instead, so I'm all for that. :)
