The iconic house from Poltergeist (in Simi Valley) is on the market for a little under $1.2M. Here’s the Zillow listing, and the realtor’s announcement.
I guess that would be cool to live in the Poltergeist house?
The inside of the house seems to actually resemble the house in the movie, too. (I haven’t seen it recently enough to compare closely.) A lot of times these famous houses were only used for the exterior shots, so the inside is totally different. The bar in Cheers comes to mind—the inside of the actual bar in Boston (used for the street shots) has nothing to do with the TV set. But for Poltergeist they must have matched the stagebound interiors to the actual house enough for the location photography to match.
The price seems comparable to nearby houses which were not in famous movies.
