Wolf’s Rain is a poetic and strange fantasy anime series from 2003 that I watched mainly because it had music by Yoko Kanno, not long after Cowboy Bebop.
The music is gorgeous, very eclectic, running from symphonic to pop to bossa nova.
Many thanks to Harrison Ingemarson at his YouTube channel for a series of remarkable piano performances that he transcribed by ear. I love the chance to learn what the jazz chords are, as it’s one of my favorite styles but not being a keyboard player they don’t come naturally to me.
